Project Overview

Electric motor systems are major industrial energy consumption devices, staking 60% of China’s total industrial electricity consumption. Electric motor systems energy-saving forms an important part of the “China Medium and Long-Term Energy Conservation Plan” as laid out in the 11th Five-Year plan period “Ten Key Energy-Saving Projects”.

China Motor Systems Challenge project is co-funded under the SWITCH-Asia Programme of the European Commission. The project will establish a national information platform for China motor system users, energy-saving service companies(ESCOs), electric motors manufacturers and energy-saving administrations, in order to promote the motor system upgrade, improve the management and technical competence regarding energy-saving, strengthen standards and the implementation of coherent policies and improve the operational efficiency of electric motor systems as a positive contribution to energy-saving strategy in China.
